Water Star Flow - David Blink About the video and the retreat: This piece was created using footage from Kelly McRee’s Summer Lake Aguahara & Aquatic Dance Retreat. The depth of the community healing experience accessed above and below the water is challenging to capture, as the range of possibilities is vast. David Blink does an amazing job of taking the viewer on a journey into the realms of the unknown opportunities for body~mind~spirit freedom and somatic healing. Prominently featured in this short film is the class where participants experienced a self-directed rebirthing using a rebozo (a cloth traditionally worn by Mexican women and used during labor, delivery, and carrying a baby). Participants described in detail to their group how they wanted to explore movement with the rebozo and how they wanted to be wrapped and held at the end of the experience. Also featured in this film are scenes from participants learning techniques to safely float a body therapeutically as taught in the practice of Aguahara. We also explore aquatic dance and movement solo, in duos, and in small groups. The retreat combines playful, creative movement alongside deep therapeutic work creating profoundly life-changing experiences for participants.
